How to Get Ready for the Fall Season (in August!)
Fall is upon us and I’m here to say that there’s absolutely no shame in dreaming about all the fall things and getting ready for the fall season in the middle of August… yes, I said it. If you’re looking for a reason to prepare for the upcoming fall season, let this be your sign!
I’d like to think of this blog as an open letter to all my readers who are dreaming about the fall time once August comes and are getting ready to embrace the cooler temperatures, autumn ambiance, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, the fall fashion and everything the season brings.
Although it is August, there is nothing wrong with getting excited for a new season and preparing for it. If you’re looking for ways to get ready for the fall season so that way you can sit back and enjoy the season when it does come, check out a few of my ideas below:
Get Your Home Ready
Getting your home ready for the upcoming season will help set you up for success when the fall does come. Whether you’re cleaning and tidying up your house, decluttering, reorganizing or whatever the case may be, preparing your home ahead of time is a great way to decrease stress and gives you more room to enjoy the new season ahead.
Fall Shopping
One of the first things that makes me personally excited for the fall time is knowing that some stores already have their fall décor on sale. Even if I'm not personally buying any decor, it brings me so much joy and gets me in the fall mood. So far, I believe a couple stores have fall décor out such as HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby and Michaels. You definitely don’t need to break the bank on fall décor but treat yourself to a little something to decorate your home.
Start Decorating
And once you get a cute piece of décor (or two!), it’s time to start decorating! You don’t have to overdo it, but gradually putting autumn décor out can help you get excited and gives you a little bit of serotonin. I know once I start putting out pumpkins on top of our mantel, I get an instant smile on my face!
Bring Out Your Fall Clothing
Prep your fall wardrobe by gathering all your fall clothes and putting them in a spot that's easily accessible in your closet. I’m talking all the cardigans, long sleeves, jackets, boots, jeans, leggings… you name it. Getting your wardrobe ready will make it easier to get ready for any fall outing!
Create a Fall Bucket List
And speaking of a fall outing, creating a fall bucket list can be a great way to ensure you have a plan for everything you want to accomplish throughout the season. Some of the activities you can include in a fall bucket list can be visiting a pumpkin patch or haunted house, watching your favorite fall or Halloween movies, recipes you want to try, road trips you want to take, crafts you want to make and books you may want to read.
Fall will be here before we know it and I hope these tips will help you have a fabulous fall filled with Pumpkin Spice Lattes and other scrumptious fall treats, trips to the pumpkin patch and everything else that brings you joy!
